Raw Deal: A Real-life “Batman”?
Just call him Batman! A minor league baseball player for the Calgary Vipers, John Odom, was traded for “a bunch of bats” to the Laredo Broncos! Yes…a bunch of bats! Are you kidding me? How do you walk into a new clubhouse after being dealt like this? Don’t get me wrong, we all know minor league players make “jack squat”, but at least put up some money for the guy! Did they think they would be sparing his feelings by not coming out and saying he’s only worth 690 bucks(the bats retailed for $69 each)? I mean, this seems pretty much like a kick in the teeth to me(after the gut punch). I hope this guy makes something of himself and gets to the big leagues. That’s his only way to redemption. Unbelievable!!!
Holiday Rental Deals in SW France
Wanna’ go to France? Dordogne Cottage is looking to make it easier on you. They’re offering last minute deals at 40% off the regular weekly rate of £750($1,486.41- Man, the dollar is weak!) for all trips booked between 5/26 & 6/28. This particular cottage sleeps 6 and is located in the SW Region of France, 5km from the town of Duras.
The dates for this special are part of their High Season, so this is a really good deal. Now, it may not be Paris, but it’s still France, and I doubt anyone you know will think less of you for it(Unless, of course, they’ve actually been to Paris).
More deals here.
LMAO! The worst ad I’ve heard in a while!
Is this guy serious? One word comes to mind: Atrocious! Who would deal with this company in any capacity? I wouldn’t borrow a dollar from them!
Listen to this guy!
Is it just me here, or was there more rehearsal needed? By no means am I an “Economic Forecaster”, but I’m gonna’ make a bold prediction, and you can quote me here: “This company isn’t going to do so well.”
Raw Deal for Doctor, You and Me Too
A woman just won a $6 Million lawsuit against a Massachusetts doctor. Ok. So, what did he do? Did he prescribe the wrong medicine, causing a life-threatening, allergic reaction? Did he remove a viable ovary(tasteless movie reference)? No, he simply stepped on her foot during a casual visit to his home. WHAT?!?! You read correctly! He stepped on her foot. Actually, he stepped on her foot and fell on her, causing it to break. Now, maybe in her defense, she would be justified in asking for help with the doctor bills, but $6 Million? Get the “eff” outta’ here with that nonsense.
It’s amazing what people sue for nowadays and the amounts they ask for in these lawsuits. This case is kind of scary, because it sets an ugly precedent.
Here’s something to think about:
Imagine your ex trips over some furniture in your home and breaks something. What would keep them from suing you for a ridiculous amount of money(aside from you not having a ridiculous amount of money)? You get the picture, however. Be careful, People! That’s all I’m saying! Be careful!
178 Year Old Ansonia Clock for Sale
While perusing the net today, I came across an ad for an antique clock. I figured it was worth a mention, so here it is.
It’s a clock made by the Ansonia Clock Company. The seller is out of India. Now, many of you may be asking: What the “heck” is an Ansonia Clock Company?
To answer your question, here’s a brief description:
The Ansonia Clock Company was one of the major 19th century American clock manufacturers. It produced millions of clocks in the period between 1850, its year of incorporation, and 1929, the year the company went into receivership and sold its remaining assets to Soviet Russia.
